Schlitterbahn Plans Shiels Build

The in-progress water park and resort, which is to have a price tag of $750 million when fully built, has some enhancements compared with last year, both in attractions and local business partnerships.

But the next big splash is expected to come this summer, when the company plans to break ground on a 216,000-square-foot Scheels All Sports store that will anchor its Riverwalk shopping and dining area, Schlitterbahn Waterparks spokesman Jeffrey Siebert said Thursday. He also said that the company would be announcing its leasing partners, potentially local ones, to help find tenants for the other retail and restaurant spaces.
